A story of immortality....
Delphine was certainly the first Saeve consumer to write to us, and not just any message! She was enthusiastic, spontaneous, passionate, a real pleasure to read. And above all, naturopath, with a great knowledge of the secrets of plants and a good lifestyle, and a very great knowledge of the Chaga! It was quite naturally that we asked her to tell us, with her beautiful pen, all the benefits of this (sour)natural mushroom!
Once upon a time...
... in the woods of the cold countries of the Northern Hemisphere, a strange, worrying and mischievous form.
All hardened, black and improbable, the latter contains some of the most beautiful treasures in the world. Throughout time, continents and peoples, Europeans, Eurasians, Americans or Japanese Ainus, it has been called in turn "Gift of Nature", "King of Plants", "Gift of God" or "Forest Diamond"..
In its rough flesh hides a rusty, spongy, and soft marrow with a thousand virtues. It clings with all its strength to the bark of birches, noble trees hardened by hostile and humid atmospheres. It is said to maintain and heal the wounds of its host, coming to life with its spring nourishing sap.
This form is the work of patience. It can take 10 years to reach its fullness, and it is at this age that it is the most full of life. It is there, fighting in the cold and extreme conditions of dense forests, without light and roots in peat. This pulp is full of minerals. It contains an ultimate concentration of vitamin B5, known to give skin resistance. Enough to heal the lesions of the glacial crevasses of its host. It will help it to heal and decongest.
In this dense and tight mist…
... this mysterious aggregate is capable of surviving without difficulty, by blocking external aggression and combating pathogenic intruders. It energizes the tree, thanks to its beta-glucans. Complex sugar molecules, present on the membranes of the immune cells of all living organisms, they stimulate their activity. Our tree remains strong, straight and proud.
This wild crust is filled with polyphenols, antioxidants par excellence. They fight against pollution and the oxidizing effects of time. They also chase away everything that would have penetrated the heart of the tree by mistake. Our host is beautiful. It never gets old.
This mass is mysterious. Almost ugly. Like a piece of calcined wood, it differs from the Marmoran heaviness of snow, which covers the birch groves during the coldest season.
Imagine it. There. Hearing the cry of the birds of prey and the breath of the bears…
Its medicinal name is…
... Inonotus obliquus. It is the Chaga, a wonderful and flagship composition of Saeve products. And by chance, it also populates our forests of Auvergne…
Used in the long term, Chaga relieves imbalances related to inflammation. It allows tissue regeneration like the skin and soothes joint, bone and digestive pain. It has immunostimulant properties, particularly on the skin barrier. It contributes to a better detoxification of the body. It is nutritious because of its composition of minerals, flavonoids, phenolic compounds and enzymes. Be careful, however, not to consume it orally, if you are treated with anticoagulant.
This enigmatic variety is finally well named "Immortality Mushroom". Rich be the Nature to give us so many benefits.

Many thanks to Delphine Baratier, Naturopath and Editor for the blog Campag’Naturo.
